SECOND OPERATOR

SECOND OPERATOR is a short atmospheric horror game about remotely operating a Mars rover during a nighttime survey mission.

Most of the mission is handled through the rover’s onboard terminal. Use typed commands to analyze soil and atmosphere, check system status, repair failures, and redistribute limited power between cameras, communication, navigation, science equipment, and lights.

Drive between survey sites, photograph unusual findings, interpret analysis reports, and keep the rover operational as its systems begin to demand more power and fail in increasingly inconvenient ways.

The wider floodlights give you a sense of safety at first. Later, you may have to rely on a narrow camera-mounted searchlight and whatever power you can spare.

The mission starts as routine field work.

It does not stay that way.
